Day 21

Today we left Normanton and headed to Karumba on the Gulf of Carpentaria.

First stop the Normanton Railway station. We were hoping to catch a short excursion trip on the Gulf Overlander but unfortunately due to a lack of drivers they are only running one overnight trip to Croydon each week with drivers flown in from Brisbane.

This makes it a bit difficult to accidentally bump into the petrol bowser.

Miles of flat, sandy and salty plain

Brolgas

We have arrived

We feel life explorers transitting from one ocean to another.

First thing first.
Freshly cooked Gulf prawns for lunch.
Yum

The Arafura sea

We are planning for a sunset dinner tomorrow.
