Arrived in Charleville in time for the end of the morning service.
During WW2 the US airforce had a secret base in Charleville. It housed thousands of personnel alone with 200+ bombers and a similar number of fighters. This was a backup position in case the coast was closed invaded.
The museum was very interesting
For the full experience we needed to unhitch the van and join a tag along tour .
Last remaining hanger is still in use.
AMSA, provide navigational warnings and HF radiotelephone broadcasts and GMDS through sites at Wiluna, WA and Charleville, QLD.
